VoltCare's product is an honest record of service work — who asked for what, who showed up, what was done, and what it cost. That takes personal information, and this page says plainly what we collect, why, and who sees it. We wrote it to describe what the platform actually does, not what a template says.
Account information. Name, email address, phone number, and — for homeowners — service address and ZIP code, which is how requests are routed to a nearby contractor.
Service requests, verbatim. What you type or select when you request service is stored exactly as you submitted it, including photos you attach. We never paraphrase your words; that verbatim record is what contractors and any dispute review see.
Technician credentials. For technicians and contractors: licence numbers and levels, insurance and licence certificates, and a work photo homeowners see when a technician is on the way. Licence badges shown on the platform are verified by VoltCare, not self-declared.
Location, while working a job. Technicians share GPS location from the moment they head to a job until they clock out — that is how a homeowner knows who is coming and how work hours are verified. Homeowners see a technician's live position only when the technician is within roughly five miles of their address, and contractors see their own crew's status during work (or after hours only when a technician has opted into On-Call). We do not track technicians off the clock.
Payments. When payments launch they will be processed by Stripe; card numbers go to Stripe, not to VoltCare's servers. What we keep is the job's billing record — hours, parts, and amounts.
Notifications. If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a delivery token for that device. It lets us send you a notification and nothing else; turning notifications off in your browser kills it.
Routing service requests, running jobs (dispatch, arrival, the live bill), verifying licences and insurance, releasing payment when both sides confirm, resolving disputes with verbatim records, and telling you things you've asked to be told. That's the list. We don't sell personal information, and we don't run third-party advertising trackers on the platform.
When you describe a problem in your own words, a machine-learning classifier (currently via OpenAI's API) may suggest which fixed category it belongs to — and nothing more. It cannot write into your request, and anything it is unsure about goes to a human. Your button choices are never AI-interpreted at all. Location checks (like whether a clock-in happened at the job site) flag records for human review; they never automatically punish anyone.
The parties to a job see each other: a homeowner sees the assigned company, technician name, photo, verified licence badge, and en-route position; the contractor sees their own crew and their jobs. Contractors on the platform are independent businesses and are responsible for their own conduct with your information. VoltCare staff see records when verifying credentials, reviewing disputes, or keeping the platform running. Nobody else, unless the law requires it of us.
Data is stored on managed infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit. Job records are the accountability trail — "we told you at 3:14 PM" has to survive — so completed-job records are retained while the platform operates. If you want your account or signup information removed, contact us; we'll delete what the law doesn't require us to keep and tell you plainly what stayed and why.
VoltCare is for adults arranging licensed trade work. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
As the platform grows this policy will change; the date above changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use VoltCare after an update means the updated policy applies.
